Khlong Sathorn is a
canal that runs in the middle of
Sathorn Road,
in
Bangkok's
Sathorn
District, and which is
named after
Luang Sathon Rajayukta,
a wealthy Chinese
immigrant and businessman,
who in 1895 engineered
the digging of the canal that connects the
Chao Phraya
River (underneath the
Taksin Bridge), with the Wat Hua
Lamphong Canal, which runs parallel to
Rama IV
Road.
