  Kakusandha

A large standing image of the Kakusandha Buddha, located at the North Gate of Ananda Phaya in Bagan. According to legend, he was 40 cubits tall, lived for 4,000 years until he renounced his worldly life, and died at the age of 40,000. The image is ca. 9.5 meters tall, made of solid teakwood and covered with gold leaf. It displays a dhammachakka mudra.
