This bird belongs to a widespread
species of migratory leaf-warblers, found in Europe and temperate to
subtropical Asia. |

This insectivorous bird is placed in
the family Phylloscopidae and has the scientific name Phylloscopus trochiloides. |
There are several subspecies, which
are divided into two main groups, i.e. an eastern group, known as Greenish
Warblers and a western group, known as Green Warblers. |

Most members, of both groups, winter
in southern Asia,
from India to southern
China. |
Generally, most members are
grayish-green above and off-white below, with a single wing bar in the
western populations. |

minor differences between the different
subspecies, such as a slight variation in colouration.
