In Thai, a Grey-bellied Squirrel is known as kra-rohk plaai haang dam, meaning ‘black tail-end squirrel’, referring to its long tail, which has thin grey bands and a black tip.

This one was spotted in mid-February, when its upper side starts to turn more orange-brown in colour.
