The
Gaur (Bos gaurus), in Thai
called
krathing,
is
the largest known
wild bovine animal, notorious for its
enormous thrust.
In the
wild, it lives in the
hilly woodlands of
India (fig.),
Burma,
Thailand
(fig.)
and Malacca,
but it also has a
domesticated form, known
as mythum, mithun
or
gayal (Bos gaurus frontalis).
