taken there in 1552 AD by the
Lan Na
king
Setthathirat, who was also crown prince of
Lan Chang,
when he returned
to
Laos
to assume the throne of his
father, whom had died 5 years earlier. It remained in
the then capital of Lan Xang until 1564, when both the
capital and the statue were moved to the
Vientiane, where it
remained until
after the Siamese conquest of
Vientiane in
1778
AD.
