The Chinese tea ceremony is a ritualized form of making, serving and drinking tea, which is locally referred to as cha yi and includes certain gestures. Typically, the server will lift the teapot high-up three consecutive times while pouring the hot water on the dried tea leaves, whilst the drinker will tick with his index and middle fingers together on the surface of the table to express his recognition, without saying a word.
