 Quantity of Stamps:

2,600,000 pieces for design 1940/1; 900,000 pieces for design 1940/2; 3,600,000 pieces for design 1940/3; 4,000,000 pieces for design 1940/4; 1,800,000 pieces for design 1940/5. NOTE: 2,000 stamps of the 0.05 Baht design (1940/3) were mistakenly printed in green colour instead of the intended purple, after one printing block of the 0.05 Baht (5 Satang) had wrongly been inserted in the 7th position on the 6th row of the mold of the 0.03 Baht stamps (design 1940/2). The error wasn't noticed until after 2,000 sheets had already been fully printed and 92 of those had already been sold to the public. After the discovery, the wrong print was removed from the remaining 1,908 sheets and sent to the archives of the Post Office. The first 2,000 sheets of the green 0,03 Baht issue thus had only 99 usable stamps per sheet, instead of 100. The use of these stamps discontinued on 1 January 1942, due to forgeries that were appearing.
