The famous 297 metre long bridge over the River Kwae (Kwai) in Kanchanaburi, also known as Bridge 277, is just one of over 600 bridges on the 415 km long  Thailand-Burma Railway.

Whereas the curved parts are original, the two straight pieces in the middle are replacements built after the bridge was damaged in an air bombardment (fig.) by the Allies.
