A
nai or lah, i.e. a
hand powered household device used for
winding loosely-coiled bundles of yarn or thread of cotton or
silk onto a reel.
A piece of
yarn forms a connection linking the wheel with
the spindle, thus driving both when the wheel is
turned. The skein is
tied to the reel which is placed on
the spindle, a small axle
of
steel called leknai (fig.)
in Thai.
