  krachet

Thailand

Krachet, an aquatic plant known in English as water mimosa (fig.). It has small green leaves and a lengthy white, very soft, almost sponge-like stem, that consists of jointed segments, with thin purplish white roots at each joint.

Due to this, it is also nicknamed phak non, which translates as ‘worm vegetable’, and refers to the grub-like shape of the stems.
