Wat Wang Wiwekaram

Sangkhlaburi is built in the style of the
Maha Bodhi pagoda in
Bodh Gaya (India) and has an
amalaka ornament (fig.) at the top, underneath the
chattra. It is one of
several pagodas in
Thailand that are built similar to the Maha Bodhi pagoda in India. Others
include those of
Wat Yahn
in
Chonburi
(fig.)
and
Wat Mahathat Wachiramongkon
in
Krabi
(fig.).
