A Buddha image from 1183 AD in the National Museum in Bangkok. Usually the pahng nahg prok position is portrayed with a meditating Buddha with a pahng samahti mudra (fig.) and refers to a legend almost at the end of the story of the Buddha's Enlightenment. This image however, in Srivijaya style and found in Chaiya, is seated in the maravijaya or bhumisparsa position (fig.), an episode at the beginning of the legendary life story of the Buddha, before his Enlightenment. The combination of both positions possibly refers to a summary of the entire story.
