Nok insih is a general Thai name for birds of prey (fig.), of which there are many different species, such as the falconida and accipitridae, including also the eagle. This picture shows me with a Red-backed sea-eagle (fig.), also known as a Brahminy Kite.

 

They are a common sight at the Bay of Pang Nga, where they come close to humans, to feed on the leftovers from the many fish restaurants that are thrown in the sea.
