Mobiles,
known in Thai as kreuang khwaen (fig.),
made of stringed kernels of rice that have been popped and adorned with colourful
paper flowers, usually of a single colour per mobile, are a type of
malai khao tok.
Malai khao tok
can be made from different kinds of popped rice, known
as
khao tok (fig.),
resulting either in mobiles
or garlands (fig.)
of an overall white colour, or in a mix of light and
dark colours.
