Mantis shrimps get their name from their physical resemblance to both praying mantises (fig.) and shrimps.
This particular species is known as Robber Harpiosquillid Mantis Shrimp or Oriental Krill (Harpiosquilla harpax) and is one of three species typically farmed or caught in Thailand as seafood.
