Kaffir
lime or kieffer lime, known in Thai as
makrud,
is a kind of
lime
with a knobby rind. The leaves
off the plant it grows on are known as
kaffir leaves and typically grow vertically in pairs, one on top of the other, somewhat
like the shape of a hourglass (fig.).
