A
hotel bellboy
dressed in a
johng kraben,
i.e. a Thai
traditional, sarong-like
lower garment, reminiscent to
the
Khmer
sampot (fig.)
as worn in
Cambodia.
It is likewise worn by both men and women.
The edge
of the cloth is passed between the legs and tucked in at the
wearer's lower back, making its shape more like a like a pair of
loose pants rather than a skirt. In the past, it was the
everyday wear of the upper and middle classes.
