A boon bang fai procession as held annually during the Rocket Festival  in Isaan, in which home-made rockets, decorated with nagas (fig.) are carried through town.

The lively parade is accompanied by a band of musicians, who play all sorts of local and traditional instruments, such as the kaen (fig.), klong yao (fig.), and chaab yai (fig.).

And at the front of the procession are groups of dancing girls, all dressed in traditional outfits and some with colourful headgear.
