Thailand has several hot springs, stretching from the northernmost provinces of Chiang Rai and Mae Hong Son, to the South, such as here in Ranong.

Many of those places offer therapeutic baths in cooled down water, and sell small baskets or nets with chicken or quail's eggs, for visitors to boil them naturally in the wells.

When the water temperature is below the boiling point of 100° Celsius, the smaller quail's eggs are preferred against chicken eggs, as they take less time to have them ready for consumtion, i.e. hard-boiled.
