Wat Phrathat Phanom
The revered temple Wat Phrathat Phanom Woramahawihaan in Nakhon Phanom, which has a distinctive stupa in Laotian style (fig.).
The stupa is said to house a relic of the Buddha, hence the use of the term Phrathat in the name, whereas the word phanom means ‘hill’, and refers to its location.
