The remnants of
Wat Phra Phai Luang
in
Sukhothai,
a large and important temple
complex in the northern section of the
Historical Park, which was presumably constructed during the
reign of
Jayavarman VII, who ruled from
1181
to 1219 AD.
The complex is
surrounded by a moat and features three Khmer-style
prangs,
of which today only one is still mostly intact (fig.), while of the other two only
the base remains.
