The
temple
Wat Phah Bong
in
Chiang Mai
is located within the old city moats.
It was reportedly
built in the late 15th century AD by
Ngiaw people
who migrated from
Mae Hong Son
and named the temple after their home village.
Among the temple's
interesting objects are a bust of the demon
Rahu
(fig.)
and large scale imitation models of the 12 pagodas in
Thailand that contain Buddha relics of various years of
the
Chinese zodiac.
