Vietnamese yellow doors
Whereas the heavy wooden palace gates in imperial China were painted red and inlaid with golden studs (fig.), in Vietnam they were painted yellow, i.e. the colour reserved for the Emperor. The wooden name sign above the doors is known as miao minge.
