Portrait of King Bhumipon Adunyadet, embossed in gold on a white circle with a golden rim, and the Royal Cypher of the King, i.e. a golden crown, with beams of light radiating from the top, over his initials, the letters B.P.R. (ภ.ป.ร.), that stand for Bhumipon Adunyadet Parama Rajatiraat (ภูมิพลอดุลยเดชปรมราชาธิราช) and can be translated as ‘Bhumipon Adunyadet, great king of kings’, embossed in gold on a dark blue background. On the bottom half of the circle is the text H.M. the King's 60th Birthday Anniversary, and on the top half the Thai text Maha Mongkhon Chaleum Phra Chanom Phansa Ha Rob (มหามงคลเฉลิมพระชนมพรรษา 5 รอบ), i.e. the ‘Auspicious Occassion of the Fifth Birthday Cycle Celebrations’.
