This
sala-style
shelter, known as
Sala Samrahn Mukhamaht,
was built in the reign of
Rama V
and
used as a royal
pavilion where members of the royal family could eat out
in the Ngae Taeng Garden, located in
Dusit
Palace.
In the reign of King
Rama VII
the
pavilion
was
relocated to
the compound of the
National
Museum
in
Bangkok,
where it remains to this day.
