  Reua Saeng (last barge)

Thailand

Reua Saeng are lesser escort barges that accompany and protect the true Royal Barges during the Royal Barge Procession and are positioned at the rear end of the flotilla. There are totally seven such barges. The last one differs from the first six in that the oarsmen of the seventh and last Reua Saeng wear a white jacket bordered with red and gold, a red pahkaomah, and a red Malabiang-helmet, rather than the white jacket bordered with blue, a blue pahkaomah with white dots, blue trousers, and a blue brimless hat trimmed with gold and with earflaps, as worn by the oarsmen of all other Reua Saeng barges (fig.). The roof of all the Reua Saeng barges is red with a golden frame in the form of an elongated quadrangle.
