Prasat Hin Meuang Tam
The ruins of the former Khmer-Hindu temple Prasat Hin Meuang Tam, in Buriram.
The name refers to its location in the plains, at the base of Prasat Phanom Rung (fig.).
It has two L-shaped sra or ‘ponds’ (fig.) in front of the main inner sanctuary.
The temple was devoted mainly to Shiva, whereas Vishnu is assumed to have been worshipped as a minor god.
Like most Khmer temples, it is orientated towards the East and has a concentric plan, with a central sanctuary and two libraries.
