The escutcheon of
Phrae shows a
chedi with the
relic
Phrathat Cho Hae, on
a horseback. According to legend the local rulers of Phrae and
Nan were brothers.
Whilst one was using an ox as means of transportation, the other used a horse.
One day they met on the top of a mountain to define the rule of their realm and
divided the region in two equal shares. Here they also decided to use their
animals as the logo for their escutcheons, and each city added its own relic to
it.
