A pair of Pheasant-tailed Jacanas spotted on the River Kwae (fig.) in Kanchanaburi. They are in breeding plumage, i.e. a blackish-brown body, a white head and foreneck, and a yellowish-buff hindneck.

 

In the middle of the neck, along both sides, runs a black line that divides the colours of the fore and hindneck, and which converge on top of the crown.

The short wings are mostly white, and it has a long, blackish tail.
