Paknam Incident
Depiction of the Paknam Incident at the Royal Dockyard Museum (fig.), when just after sunset on 13 July 1893, the French warships L'Inconstant and La Comète sailed up the Chao Phraya River towards Bangkok.
The Siamese army attacked from gunboats and the Chulachomklao Fortress (fig.), forcing the French to fight their way past these defenses.
