He was a
brave general and skilled in planning battles, who had
led his troops in several victorious battles against the
Burmese, and though in his 4th campaign against this
arch enemy he had been able to kill the Burmese General
Surin Chokhong,
who soon
after also succumbed from a lethal infection to a wound
he sustained on his knee in the same battle.
