Mangosteen is the fruit of an evergreen tree that grows up to twelve meters high. Its thick purple rind covers soft, sweet and succulent white flesh.

From the number of ‘petals’ of the small flowerlike ‘crown’ at the bottom of the fruit it can be told how many peaces of flesh of fruit are inside.
