Little Herons, feed on small fish, frogs and aquatic insects. They do this by standing motionless in shallow water or at the water's edge, waiting to ambush prey.

They sometimes even do this by tricking prey using bait, e.g. by dropping a feather carefully on the water surface and picking any fish that comes to investigate.
