  Large-billed Crow

PREVIOUS BIRD NEXT BIRD Nepal

A pair of Large-billed Crows, also called Jungle Crows, spotted in southern Nepal. Due to the location it is possible that they belong to the Himalayan race, which is larger and has a more powerful bill, though this is hard to observe from a distance.

Due to their larger size of up to 59 centimeters, the Himalayan race could also be easily confused with the 64 centimeter large Common Raven, which occurs in the same biotope, so the crow's bill and the steep shape of the forehead are the best observable features to separate it form the latter.
