This face of a man wearing what seems like an integral motor helmet, is actually a Japanese knock-about toy, known as a Dharma Doll or Daruma.

It is red in colour, after the outer robe of any high-ranking Chinese monk (fig.), and has a bearded face. The doll is modeled after Bodhidharma (fg.).
