Like the male, it has black frontal bristles, but less
noticeable as those in the male, whose head is in
addition adorned with a tall chestnut-maroon crest (fig.).
Unlike the male, the female has no white spot or crest. The somewhat
larger male is metallic bluish-green above, glossy
greyish-blue to blackish below, and has brownish wings,
which are less outstanding than those in the female. |
