  Cream Fruit (Indian Rubber Vine)

The Cream Fruit or Spider Tresses, also known as the Indian Rubber Vine and Poison Arrow Vine, is an erect shrub, that grows up to around 5 metres tall and with the botanical name Strophanthus gratus.

 

It bears whitish flowers with a purplish blush, especially on the underside, as well as a deep purple centre. The thick leaves are elliptical to ovate, and in Africa used as a folk medicine against snakebites.
