A section of the Corrections Museum in Bangkok shows the history of capital punishment and its various forms throughout time, as well as techniques, weapons and tools used to carry out executions.

In ancient times the prevailing method was beheading by sword. In 1934, this method was abolished by a new Penal Code and changed to execution by machine gun, in which the prisoner was placed behind a target and shot to death by an executioner who couldn't see the convict.

Since 12 December 2003, the execution style was more humanized  as it changed from shooting to death into death by lethal injection.
