  Common Tree Shrew

The Common Tree Shrew (fig.), seen here in both pictures, is very similar in appearance to its cousin from Borneo, i.e. the Mountain Tree Shrew.

 

The Common Tree Shrew is distinct from the other by a characteristic pale mark on the shoulder. Akin to the slender squirrel (fig.) it also often has a pale area around each eye.
