The old Chen Clan Ancestral Hall in Guangzhou, a large city in southern China that, is also known as Canton.

Today, this former temple houses the Guangdong Folk Art Museum, which is home to many traditional artifacts of refined quality (fig.).

It is also known as the Chen Family Temple and was in the Qing Dynasty used as an education centre to prepare junior members of the Chen Clan for the Imperial Examinations (fig.). The complex is richly adorned with porcelain roof-decorations (fig.), intricate bas-reliefs and woodcarvings.
