The
interior of
Bot
Kalwar,
i.e. the Calvary Church in
Bangkok, which
was founded in 1786, when Portuguese settlers moved here
from
Ayutthaya after
this former Siamese capital fell to the Burmese in
1767.
Besides being named after
Golgotha, the place where
Jesus Christ
was crucified, the church also has Jesus himself, or at least his statue, in the
pulpit.
