Statue of the
Burmese King
Bodawpaya,
who in 1785
launched a four-pronged invasion of
Siam,
in order
to expand his
dominions into the lands of the former
Ayutthaya
Kingdom.
In the
Nine Armies War,
he attacked with a combined strength of about 50,000
men, yet facing heavy resistance from the Siamese forces,
he eventually failed in his attempt.
