Black Marsh Turtles are medium-sized
freshwater turtles with a black carapace, and that can grow up to twenty
centimeters.
They
prefer
dwelling
in soft-bottomed,
heavily
vegetated,
shallow
bodies
of
slow-moving
or
stagnant
waters
in
low
elevations,
where
they
spend most
of the
time at
the
bottom
of the
water or
buried
in the
mud.
