Betong Chickens,
known in Thai as
kai betong, are a breed of domestic
chicken, that originated from the langshan variety from
China
and was introduced to Thailand by Chinese immigrants.
It is named after the place where it was first bred for consumption,
i.e. the
Amphur
Betong in
Yala
Province. Adult males have a reddish-yellow plumage and females are
whitish-yellow. They have yellow legs and feet, and a single red comb.
