A bas-relief at the Bayon temple (fig.) in Angkor Thom (fig.), displaying the Battle of Tonlé Sap (fig.) that followed the Cham Invasion of the Khmer Empire in 1177 AD. After the attack, the Cham stayed in Angkor until they were defeated in 1181 AD.

It is not clear whether these scenes from the historical sea battle between the Khmer and the Cham, depicted on the southern wall of the Bayon temple, represent the Cham invasion of 1177 or the 1181 battle in which the Khmer under Jayavarman VII (fig.) were victorious and expelled the Cham from their empire.
