This colourful Cichlid is a species of freshwater fish that originates from South America, though this particular short body strain, known as the Balloon Ram, was produced in Asia for the lovers of aquarium fish.

The other fish in the are a Panda Cory and a blue-grey Cichlid, that belongs to the genus of Pseudo-tropheus, a species also in the family of Cichlidae, which in Thai is known as pla moh sih.
