  Mahachanok (Mahajanaka)

A mural painting at Phra Ubosot Klahng Nahm, a temple in Ayutthaya (fig.), depicting Prince Mahajanaka, who in Thai is known as  Prince Mahachanok.

 

After being shipwrecked in the middle of the ocean, Prince  Mahachanok is rescued by Mekala. After that, he succeeded his father and became King of Mithila city. Some time later, he renounced his worldly wealth and became a monk.
