  kilen (in traditional iconography)

Thailand

In traditional iconography the kilen has a scaled, dear-like body, with on its back short curly manes and a bushy tail; legs with hoofs like those of a horse; and the head of a dragon with one dear-like horn. The kilen is one of the mounts of the bodhisattva Kuan Yin (fig.).
